VENUS yacht
STEVE JOBS' superyacht

The Venus yacht was designed by Steve Jobs and the famous designer Philippe Starck. He once told Philippe Starck, “Every year, we go on vacation on my friend Larry Ellison’s boat. And every year, I say to myself, I too should have a boat built. But I don’t do it. Two years ago, I decided I was going to go for it. I looked at everything, asked everyone, and came to the conclusion that only one person can do it: you.” Jobs and Philippe Starck worked on the yacht for six years, starting even before the diagnosis of his terminal illness. He intended the vessel to be his swan-song, after his terminal health problem was brought to light.

Yacht Venus represents many of the traits of the Apple engineering marvels. She has a stream-lined hull that replicates the visual effect of the Apple gadgetries. The mastless motoryacht Venus is indeed an inventor’s masterpiece, with her antennae and domes hidden within an architectural statement -- a world's first. The Venus yacht also boasted 40-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and an unprecedented amount of glass made by the chief designer of the Apple Stores. Steve Jobs patented an iPhone-like device to control his enormous yacht--the captain uses a 27-inch iMacs to navigate the 250-feet yacht.

Yacht Venus is in the list of 100 biggest superyachts in the world. She is faster and lighter than a typical yacht because she was made out of aluminum. The yacht also boasts a huge sun deck with built-in jacuzzi and an all-glass cabin. Venus was completed one year after Steve Job died in 2011. Jobs’ family was so impressed with their $140 million Venus superyacht that they had gifted an iPod Shuffle with a thank-you note to each of the hundreds of crew members who helped build it.
