COAST GUARD RESPONSE BOAT SMALL II
The response boat-small II program
renewed the Coast Guard’s RB-S fleet. The Coast Guard
acquired 370 RB-S IIs at a total contract value of $150

type for the service.
The Response boat - Small II was designed
to operate year-round in waters along coastal borders.
The boat is 28' 8" long, made of premium-grade 5086
aluminum alloy, and has a range of 150 nautical miles at
cruising speed and a maximum Speed of 40 knots.
The new design of the Response Boat-Small focuses more
on crew comfort, visibility, safety and protection. It
has State-of-the-art shock-mitigating seats. The cabin
has integrated ballistics panels for crew small
arms protection protection.
To improve visibility Small II has 360
degree visibility. The boats have fore and aft gun mount
for M240B machine guns.
The Coast Guard establishes RB-S II
program in 2010. A year later, The first RB-S II
was delivered to the Coast Guard for testing and
evaluation. In Dec. 2019, the 370th and final RB-S II
was delivered to Coast Guard Station Honolulu, Hawaii.
The RB-S II has proven effective in executing Coast
Guard missions including port and waterway security,
