Remote Control Battleship USS ARIZONA

The Arizona was moored
in Pearl Harbor's “Battleship Row” on the morning of
December 7, 1941, when Japanese aircrafts attacked.
She was hit by several bombs which totally wrecked
the forward hull, collapsing her forward
superstructure and causing her to sink with 1,177 of the 1,512 of her crewmen. On
March 7th, 1950, Admiral Arthur W. Radford, Commander
in Chief of the Pacific Fleet, instituted the
raising of colors over Arizona’s remains.
Legislation during the administrations of Presidents
Dwight D. Eisenhower and John F. Kennedy designated
the wreck a national shrine. In 1950, USS
Arizona began to be used as a site for memorial
ceremonies, and in the early 1960s a memorial
structure was constructed across the ship's sunken
remains.
Until today, the
Arizona is still on commission. She was
awarded one battle star for her service in WWII.

I picked up the Arizona yesterday and it exceeded
all expectations. It is spectacular. The level of
detail and care that went into her construction is
apparent.
The display stand included was a nice surprise and
looks great.
I shall have many enjoyable hours displaying and
operating the model at my local pond. I will send a
video of her in action.
