RITZ-CARLTON EVRIMA YACHT

Ritz-Carlton's highly-anticipated superyacht cruise finally made its debut in October 2022. Evrima, the first of three custom-built yachts from the famous hotel chain's Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, began a seven-night cruise from Barcelona, Spain to Nice, France on October 15.

The 190-meter vessel, which can accommodate 298 passengers, is made up of 149 suites with a private terrace, as well as floor to ceiling windows, and features an infinity pool, a wine vault, a Ritz-Carlton Spa, a nightclub and its very own marina.

Accommodation options ranging from standard cabins to two-story "loft-style" apartments to a sprawling 1,091- square-foot "owner's suite" with a private hot tub.

Evrima is a cruise ship for people who hate cruises. Evrima has 20% more public space per passenger than conventional cruise ships, and her upcoming sisters, Ilma (sailing 2024) and Luminara (2025), will be even more spacious. With 253 crew members, Evrima was about good times and social experiences. Crew is trained on Ritz-Carlton’s 12 values for customer service — which include knowing guests’ names and fulfilling their needs before they anticipate them — that they carry in their pockets and review at daily meetings. The ship’s hotel director was previously hotel director at the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park.

Evrima yacht, co-managed by Yacht Port- folio and Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co, a subsidiary of Marriott International Inc, delivers a lot of people’s idea of perfection. “Our competitor is a villa in Tuscany or a safari, not a cruise,” says Douglas Prothero, founder and CEO of Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection and Yacht Portfolio. “This is a yachting lifestyle,” Prothero adds. “We are not trying to be a cruise ship.

This yacht is a Ritz-Carlton property, with Velvet and silk and buttery leather upholstery, cool marble and chrome, plush carpet... Evrima has no buffet, casino, hokey theatre shows and activities. What it has is a lot of class — from the spacious, hotel-like suites with balconies and marble bathrooms with porcelain sinks, to the kind of outdoor spaces that will allow you to fulfil any private yacht fantasies.

The ship's restaurants were all impressive. Complimentary wine flows at all meals. If you don’t care for one varietal, ask for another. Dedicated gourmands will want to try Sven Elverfeld Aboard. Its chef earned three Michelin stars for his restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton Wolfsburg in Germany.

The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection is revolutionizing the luxury cruising industry, creating an entirely unique category designed for those in search of unmatched getaways, highly curated itineraries.
By 2026, Four Seasons, Orient Express, and Aman will debut superyacht cruises, but for now Ritz-Carlton owns the waters. The Four Seasons has announced plans for its first vessel, a 14-deck, 679-foot-long superyacht with 95 suites, which is scheduled to enter service in late 2025. Orient Express's world's largest sailing ship, the 722 ft Orient Express Silenseas will enter service in 2026. Aman will launch the 600-foot Sama in 2025.
