Tugboat HEIDE MORGAN
The Heide Moran was built
in 1975 by McDermott Shipyard of Morgan City, Louisiana
for the Moran Towing Corporation of New York, New York.
Powered by two, twelve cylinder, EMD 12-645-E5 diesel
engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,300
horsepower. Her electrical service is provided by two
75kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 107,518
gallons of fuel.
This 36" long model was built for
Mr. Cliff who worked on the tug when it was launched.
Thus the model looks a little different than the modern Heide Moran that has a tall tower. The Texas bar was
installed later but Mr. Cliff wanted it on. If you'd

"Thank you so very much for such a fantastic job you have made for me of Heide Moran.
The colors are exact, the model is magnificent in every way. The lights are a nice
extra touch as well, as is the US flag. By the way the wooden base is smart in
itself. I am considering another job for you, but all I have are some pictures of the tug, I
am trying to get more from all angles.
Once again, thanks for a superb model
Best regards
Brian"
