ARCTIC PRINCESS
LNG CARRIER

When completed, Arctic Princess was the largest LNG carrier ever built: 288 meters long with a breadth of 49 m and a capacity of 147,000 cubic meters of LNG.  She is also the first LNG carrier that will be employed for carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the world's northernmost LNG development--Snohvit.  Arctic Princess  is  chartered to the Snohvit Sellers for a period of 20 years.

The LNG is carried at a temperature of minus 163 degrees centigrade in four Moss containment system spherical tanks, each with a diameter of 42 meters. A full cargo load of LNG is sufficient to cover the yearly energy consumption of all households in a city with a population of 45,000 people.

The Arctic Princess was built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd (MHI) in Japan.  delivery was on schedule in 2006. She is Moss type (the tanks are spherical in shape.) The Norwegian company Moss Maritime designed the Moss type.

This primarily wood LNG model is 33" long x 11" tall x 7" wide (1/350 scale) $3,990  Shipping and insurance in the contiguous USA included. Other places: $400 flat rate. This model is in stock and can be shipped within 5 business days.

Our first Arctic Princess model (and also the world's first) was commissioned by National Grid/Grain LNG in 2012. We also built a Q Max tanker for the company in 2016.

We are specialized in custom model ships. Any type, any size, premium quality only. Let us know your preferences here: Commissioning. The process will be easy and stress free.

Because you want the best LNG ship model possible, be sure to choose a builder wisely. When you see a model whose low price is so tempting, question its  accuracy and craftsmanship. Easiest to spot is the orange one whose spheres size is way too small. Such an important feature and they missed! Another one whose deck is green has very shiny paint, simplified parts, and ridiculous railings. Those models can be seen by Googling "LNG model ship."
