This tug has a very
complicated RC propulsion system. The control must work
exactly like how a helmsman drives a tugboat. The
transmitter was physically modified to achieve
that and only our genius craftsman could do this (he's
been full time with us since 2011.) This
RC system includes a high-end transmitter
($700), 2 azimuths, 2 motors, 2 controllers, 4 servos, 4
limiters, 1 mixer, 1 bowthruster, 1 controller for
bowthruster, a custom-made Arduino board for everything.
Our price for this unique system is $4,000. It can
be used for a large cruise ship like this one
Oasis of the Seas. When you order it
for a particular ship, we'll make the the azimuths to
scale to fit your model.
This model is being
made for the purposes of training tug pilots
in two different scenarios: on a tug that has
azimuths and one that has propellers and rudders.
The majority of the parts are custom-made. The
electronics inside and the features outside of the
controller are also altered to fit the needs.
